About Coach

I'm one of the few actual natives of Los Angeles, CA where I grew up as a student-athlete playing multiple sports including soccer, track & field, and football. After high school, I was fortunate enough to continue playing football all four years in college at Los Angeles Valley College and Lambuth University while earning multiple post-season awards.

Turning Point

I took the scenic route before becoming a full-time coach. After almost 20 years working in broadcast media, and just over 15 years carving my niche as a coach, I decided to follow my passion by turning my side hustle in health, fitness, and performance into a place where I could help other busy parents and executives take control or their health. With all the stress from long hours in my advertising career and raising a family, my blood pressure had reached a critical level on multiple occasions. When my son was born I jokingly asked the nurse to check my blood pressure after she finished checking my wife's, and the monitor read 162/111. I wasn't overweight by any means (5'10 185 at the time), but I definitely wasn't operating optimally. Two months later my dad dropped dead from a massive heart attack while my daughter was also dealing with a health issue. Those three things were the catalyst to making significant changes to everything I had been doing. When I transitioned out of media and joined the staff as a strength coach & trainer at Elevate Physical Therapy in Santa Monica, California there was a glaring issue with the clientele that was coming in. Most of them were young athletes coming in for PT to deal with injuries that stemmed from overuse in their sport. Lots of games, practices, and skills training but no education on movement fundamentals, strength training, and quality rest. That's when I committed to creating better youth and teenage athletes by improving their ability to run, jump, and change direction properly in an effort to help their teams win while reducing their chances of injury!

Motivation & Passion

My purpose for coaching is to help others realize that they are capable of creating systems that allow them to be healthy and energetic without being extremely restrictive about the stuff they enjoy. Parents in their 30's & 40's often times believe that it takes too many hours and exhaustive training sessions to look and feel good, but I know that is not the case! Kids want to be the fastest, strongest, and most dynamic in their sport and believe that more skill is needed for them to get there. In both cases, what's needed is to get stronger, faster, and better movement capacity and we are committed to helping them achieve those goals!
